Mars Hill College is a private, liberal arts college located in the Blue Ridge Mountains just 18 miles north of Asheville, NC. The college has a long tradition of student interest in outdoor recreation and service and in the spring of 2007 we made the natural progression to create a cycling club. The team trains on the peaceful yet challenging back roads of Madison County and competes in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC).
The Mars Hill College Cycling Team was started in the spring of 2007, competed in a few select events in 2008, and saw its first full season of road racing in spring 2009. 2009-2010 will mark the second full year in what we expect to become a long tradition of cycling at Mars Hill College as we strive to send riders to national championship events in all disciplines: road, mountain, cyclocross and track. We have momentum, student interest, faculty support, and the perfect terrain to grow a stellar cycling team. The only missing ingredient is you!

Come train with the team on the beautiful mountain roads around Mars Hill, NC. Check out our ride calendar for regular group ride times. Beginners and riders of all abilities are welcome. We even have a couple of loaner bikes if you’re a first-timer and want to give it a try. And if you plan on being in the area–for a school visit or otherwise–contact us and we’ll meet you for a ride. We’re always riding!
Being a mars hill alumni and cycling best of luck, i wish there was a cycling team a few years ago. Where can we get some gear to show our support. Hats, jerseys etc. Good luck this year
